I saw a video showing off some really cool T Gauge buildings from Custom Z Scale and got instantly curious. Turns out, the buildings are printed on card stock. I’ve used printed buildings before, but mostly as background flats and they usually look so so up close.

But since T Gauge is half the size of Z scale, I figured it was worth a try. At this scale, it’s more about creating the illusion of detail than having tons of actual detail. Once I got the “kit”, I could see right away that it really works.

These kits are super affordable, go together in 30 minutes or less, and look great once assembled. The video gives you a good idea of what’s involved (spoiler: not much) and what kind of results to expect.
