Received two Fine Track sets from TGauge.com, featuring 60mm and 70mm radius curves. Despite their incredibly small size, the track looks great, highly detailed and surprisingly solid to work with. On the 70mm set, a couple of “tie ends” were broken, but it’s a minor issue for me. I’m confident TGauge.com would provide a replacement if needed.

Connecting the tracks is straightforward, but keep in mind that this is 1:450 scale, everything is very delicate. If you connect and disconnect the tracks multiple times, you’ll likely need to gently pinch the joiners with pliers to tighten the connection.

Each Fine Track set includes:

  • 4 x 60 or 70 mm radius curves
  • 2 x 60 mm straight track
  • 1 x Power cable
  • 5 x Track connectors (Same as the FlexiTrack joiners)
  • 1 x Bag of track screws
  • 1 x 2000 grade cleaning paper.

When assembled, the 60mm radius curves form an oval measuring approximately 190 × 130mm (7.5 × 5 inches, outer edge), while the 70mm radius curves yield an oval of 210 × 150mm (8.3 × 6 inches, outer edge). The Fine Track sets are available in brown or grey. I chose grey as I prefer starting with a lighter base when weathering the track.

Note: The recommended maximum chassis length for these curves is 38mm. This makes the 16m motorized kit-bash chassis (35.5mm) the most viable option. The smallest available locomotive body is 21m (~46mm), which means you’ll likely need to scratch-build using the 16m chassis for reliable operation on these tight curves.

Also, the Fine Track sets do not include a power controller—you’ll need to purchase that separately. I’m currently using the controller from my Deutsche Bahn ICE 3 starter kit, which works well for now.
