I just received my first T Gauge train, and even though I knew 1:450 scale would be small, nothing quite prepares you for how tiny these trains are until you’re holding one in your hand. I’m used to working with Z scale, but this takes miniature railroading to an entirely new level, and it’s definitely going to be a fun challenge.

The ultra-compact size of T Gauge makes it possible to build multiple layouts in a very limited space or even design a modular system that can be expanded over time. For my first set, I chose the Deutsche Bahn ICE 3 Starter Set from TGauge.com with 8 cars and 120mm radius curves. There’s also a more affordable 4-car version available if you’re looking for a smaller or more budget-friendly option. The starter set includes everything you need to get going: track, controller, switchback sensors, and more.
